Barbarians Sign New Recruits; 5s Looking Good

Published on September 2, 2006

A number of new players have started joining the Club recently, which is always a good sign. We are of course always looking for new talent and, as happens every year, in true expat style, the end of the summer is proving the most fruitful. With both an A and B team, we are able to offer all levels of ability a chance to enjoy the game at a grassroots level.

As we do draw nearer to the IFFC 2006-2007 Season kickoff, now is the perfect time for everyone to start introducing new players to the team. We are certainly on the prowl for new talent, and we will welcome anyone who is committed to the Barbarian cause. People with no affiliation to the Barbs are also of course welcome to join. In other news, the ClubFootball 5-a-side league is beginning to shape up quite nicely. Both the As and Bs are in strong positions after the opening two weeks. Despite slipping to their first defeat, the As hold the second spot, behind a team which also has a number of Barbarians in it. The Bs have now found their legs, cruising to two comfortable wins in their games during week 2. Let's hope for more from them, and an extra gear from the As too.
