Barbarians 2009 Spring IFFC Matches Begin

Published on April 28, 2009

"Winning games is the aim, but it's just great to be part of this club, this community."

A quote from Andrew, the Barbarians manager, when asked to summarise the performances of his team in the last five games. We couldn't agree more.

Both the Barbarians (B Team) and the Barbarians All-Stars (A Team) have made a good start to the second half of the season. We shouldn't be surprised, given how well training has gone this season. The new recruits have also played their part by fitting in extremely well to the club.

In the IFFC First Division, the Barbarians have picked up 9 points from a possible 15, with three wins and two defeats and an impressive 20 goals. Keep it up, guys!

In the IFFC Premiere League, the Barbarians All-Stars have gone unbeaten in five games, also picking up 9 points from a possible 15, with two wins and three draws. This effort has moved us out of the relegation zone and put us in position to attack the mid-table teams. The defensive efforts and team work rate have also collected two clean sheets and conceded just two goals overall in these five games. A monumental effort -- well done, lads! If we can only recapture our goal-scoring mojo, we'll have no problems staying away from the relegation zone. Come on, lads, lets get the shooting boots on, eh!
