The Barbarian A's remain the only undefeated team in the IFFC Premier League! Although they only managed a point from an overly-physical encounter with Afrika Utd, it was enough to keep the two teams neck-and-neck in the title chase. The stakes were huge, as a win here would've all but sewn it up for either side. Afrika Utd took an early lead, but the Barbarians managed to fight back, as Carlos Muniz scored with a poacher's finish after some scrappy defending. The match then started to take a turn for the worse when the Barbarians were awarded a controversial penalty. After a few minutes of Afrika's goalkeeper playing silly buggers, Nick Beswick held his nerve and converted, putting the Barbarians 2-1 up.
Frustration was cleary creeping into the game, with several dangerous tackles from Afrika and constant sledging back and forth between the two groups of supporters. The tension on the pitch reached a fever pitch when Afrika were awarded a soft penalty, only to be spectacularly denied by a superhero save from Ethan Collins. Afrika received two red cards near the end of the match but were able to snatch back a late equalizer, making the final score 2-2. This was a football match that could've gone either way but for the heroics of goalkeeper and Man Of The Match (by unanimous vote!) Ethan Collins. Now just two points behind Afrika with a game in hand, the Barbars are in the driver's seat to take the IFFC Premier League title.
