The Ups and Downs Take Centre Stage

Published on November 19, 2006

There were some very exciting games over the IFFC last weekend, none more notable than the thrilling encounter between the Barbs and China Star. After going behind three times, the As finally came out 6-4 winners, thanks to two injury time goals in the dying minutes. It was a real good game to watch, but a heart-stopper to be involved in. The As also had two close matches in the 5s last week, beating Sexy for the second time (we are the only team to have beaten them this season), then drawing 3-3 against the Vikings in a not-so-impressive performance. Despite not getting the full six points, the As do still have an outside chance of being crowned Champions.

The Bs also had a tough match in the IFFC as they faced off against unbeaten Italy FC. Despite a solid looking performance, it is fair to say that the Italians were good money for their 2-0 victory. Still, a bit more composure in front of goal could have seen the Bs get something out of this. As it stands, it's their third defeat on the bounce, and they’ll be looking for goals galore in their next match in against the Koreans. In the 5s, on the other hand, the Bs took care of business, winning both matches and keeping their outside chance of promotion alive.
