In the IFFC last weekend, both teams came away with good victories under their belt, but for very different reasons. The Bs earned themselves a very good 3-2 win over the ISB Dragons. Three goals from the self-styled Ruud van Nistelrooy means that the Bs are keeping their 100% record in full swing. The As played in what can only be described as a shambles, with the opposition, Beida China, threatening the ref and basically scaring the living daylights out of him. The game played out to a 1-1 draw, but thanks to Robert at IFFC headquarters, investigations took place, two of their players have been thrown out, and the As were awarded a 3-0 victory.
Obviously it is important to play games in good spirit, and it is a shame that this game spiraled out of control. Beida are a solid side, but they do need to keep those tempers in check. It is also good to see the IFFC taking firm action against this kind of behaviour. We play because it's fun, and this was no fun!
In the 5s, the A team has gotten off to a very good start. After winning both games during Week 1 then winning one and losing one in Week 2, the team currently lies in third place in the division on goal difference. The B team finds themselves in mid-table again; it's about time to see some of that stellar 11s league form rub off onto their 5s team!
