A Poem for the Barbarians A Teamcoffeehouse-poetry

SHAW - MR. KEEPER
Great performance on the course of his talent.
First seasonal game in 'A-team" but already a very good feeling with the defense. To improve the outputs.
Squire.

LAWRENCE
Manages the defense with patient skill. One only distraction and the French score!
Left-handed, precise, and refined: a rarity in defense!
Metronome.

THOMAS
Atypical French guy with rugby passion. Team leader and senior member of the Barbarians.
Last match for him in Beijing: both male and conductive. He never leaves the defense and is not anymore lost in more exotic dribbling. Against its French he gave his best.

Hats off to Thomas.
We will miss you.

DAVE
The French besiege his band...and he interrupts constantly, relentlessly annoying and rejects.
A motor in the legs.
Mastiff.

HENRY
Crushed with impunity by the blue pushing, he is back to help a lot mates. He is the backbone of the team. Never loses control. Elegant and effective raids.
Certainty.

ANDREW
He has a lot to do in the midfield to stem the fair play of the French. The role entrusted to him by the Mr. is the hardest and he made no mistakes.
Pillar.

KARIM
First game with the Barbarians. Undeniable talent verging on arrogant. Starts with uncertainty, but takes over the reins when the opponents let go. He is wrong only on the occasion of probable victory.
Warlord.
Welcome on board.

MARK
Flexible midfielder. Careful, diligent and timely interventions. The best French players run in his area...and he certainly is not intimidated.
Leathery.

DIRK
Deserves the title of "Man Of The Match". Commendable actor of the Barbaric attack on the French defense. Fights, rescues, proposes...in holy silence.
Applause.

KEV
Plays the big for the first half. Scores. Distributes game. He takes his blows and is sent off for nothing.
Irreplaceable bad boy.

DALE
Restores the balance in the field giving freshness and a proactive attitude to the most offensive maneuver. Concentrated and pungent.
Enlightened.

JOHN
He is an athlete from another time. Median patient with progressive tendencies. Football is a sublime passion for him.
Lord of midfield.

CARLOS
Surprising breaker. Excellent physical presence (and scenical...!) and good feet. Plays without fear on every ball and throws turmoil into the French midfield.
Prodigy.

KEITH and MO
Passionate and concrete in perfect English style.
Champing at the bit from the base because they want to be in camp with the team.
Gentlemen.

GIAMBA
...Walkin' in the park just the other day, man.
What do you, what do you think I saw?
Crowds of people sittin' on the grass with flowers in their hair said,
"Hey, Boy, do you wanna score?"
And you know how it is.
I really don't know what time it was,
so I asked them if I could stay a while...

Giambattista Santopolo

...Oh, and regarding the game. It finished 1-1. French went up in the first half; shortly afterwards the Barbarians tied it up through a Kevin Plume goal. Early second half Barbars went down to 10 men after their goalscorer was sent off, but the team pulled together, worked hard and managed to get the one point at the end. Man of the Match was Dirk, who won a 250 RMB voucher from World Health Store. Well done! Buggery F**ker went to Kevin.
