B team - Match report vs Summer Palace

It’s been a long time in the waiting…

The Summer palace game saw some of our best football yet. Defence, Midfield and Attack combined well and we dominated all over the pitch. It was one of the few matches this season where we were able to play the ball back and through the defence. Our tight formation meant we were able to control the game all over the pitch, deny the opposition space and back each other up.

Jake made the ultimate sacrifice and played both halves in goal. He acquited himself well with solid catches and number of great saves. The only time Summer Palace managed to put the ball into the net was by fouling the keeper. JJ had by far the most chances on goal, taking up great positions just inside the fullback and breaking on goal on numerous occasions. Sebastian roamed all over the pitch, sweeping up at the back, appearing in the box to head at goal and chipping the keeper from range. We struck the post twice, had two goal mouth scrambles and had many shots on target.

Somedays you win, somedays you lose. That day a cruel own goal took away the points, but we left the pitch with heads held high, knowing we’d played the opposition right off the park.
