Matchday 14 saw the Beijing Barbarians kick off against Fortuna 94. After five games without a defeat, the Barbarians went into the match high on confidence, although the absence of captain Mo and striker Dary was some cause for concern and forced the managerial team of Keith and Jochanan to rearrange the lineup somewhat.

It was an even match between Fortuna 94 and the Barbarians where a single goal for Fortuna decided the outcome of the match. In the first half it was Fortuna 94's Shun Nakamura (27.) who managed to somehow pass two Barbarians defenders and slot the ball into the lower left corner for the 1:0 lead. Apart from that goal, neither team could convert its chances, even with both Alex and Isaac applying consistent pressure along the wings and with Kevin and Henry ever present in the opposition's half.

Dejavu and Tim kept things tight in midfield and central defender Keith's return to the lineup provided some solidity in the back. Frankly, the game was more or less played in the midfield with both teams defending well. The 1:0 lead was held by Fortuna 94 over the 90 minutes and accordingly they took all three points somewhat luckily as it was an even match from both teams. Voted man of the match by the opposition team was Kevin "Shop it and Rock it" Plume.

Barbarian B's Blow it against Summer Palace

The Barbarian B team also played on Saturday, taking on Summer Palace. In the first half it was Summer Palace's Manuel Avila who struck twice (20. & 26.) while his team mate Matt Costello (36.) added one goal for a 3-0 Summer Palace lead. The Barbarians were able to pull one back through Dejavu (37.) for a 3:1 score at the break. In the second half the Barbarians created numerous chances and missed several opportunities to get back into the game. The result was somewhat unfair to the B team as a draw would have been more deserving.
