Barbarians beat Vikings 3-2 - Match Report - 14.05.2011
on a windy Saturday afternoon, the barbarians were playing the Vikings. Both sides needed points in order to get back on track.
The game started quit slowly until Dary stone, who played alone upfront for the barbars, raced up the other end to give the visitors the lead.
After half an hour, Dary was about to get off the pitch as his ankle injury started to become unbearable, when he delivered a magnificent free kick in the box for Alex d'Orangeville. Alex's shot found the Viking's keeper on its way, but Keith Bradbury smashed the ball in the net right away.

Half time arrived and the barbars were two goals up. The hard team effort and the good organization of the visitors managed to keep the Vikings away from their goal. The second half started and despite the manager's word about staying in the game and starting the second half the same way they finished the first one, the Barbars conceded a goal right after the kick off. The Vikings are now back in the game and the barbars need to find their shape again. After long minutes of Vikings pressure, the barbars scored a third goal. Dary Stone again raced passed three defenders and managed to beat the local's keeper once again. The barbars now lead by 3 to 1. But the last 20 minutes were a real struggle for the barbarians who lost Pepe in the midfield because of a groin injury. Every player did his best to stick to the match plan but without subs, tiredness hit hard. The Vikings managed to score one more and got back to 3 to 2 but the barbars finished the game defending their advantage fiercely and managed to get three more points.
BRAVO to Dary and Keith who both scored, to Yochanan and Kevin for their great performance in defense, and to the whole team for its great fighting spirit!!! Team: Kevin Plume (GK), Keith Bradbury (D), Thomas Santoni (D), Yochanan Wallach (D), Dave Carini (D), David (D), Isaac Pete (MD), Alex D'Orangeville (MD), Carlos Muniz (MD), Pepe (MD), Dary Stone (ST)
