Matchreport: BARBARIANS A vs FRENCH A 29/10/2011 (1-1)
A Poem for the Barbarians A Team
SHAW - MR. KEEPER
Great performance on the course of his talent.
First seasonal game in 'A-team" but already a very good feeling with the defense. To improve the outputs.
Squire.
LAWRENCE
Manage the defense with patient skill. One only distraction and the French scores...!
Left-handed precise and refined: a rarity in defense!
Metronome.
THOMAS
Atypical French guy with rugby passion. Team leader and senior member of the Barbarians.
Last match for him in Beijing: both male and conductive. He never leaves the defense and is not anymore lost in more exotic dribbling. Against its French he gave his best.
BARBARIANS B beat FRENCHIES 4-1 at SI’DE PARK 23/10/2011
After a comprehensive victory against King World in the previous week the Barbarians were looking to continue their winning ways against the French B team on Sunday, October 23 at Si’de Park. The starting line up was Shaw as Goalkeeper, with Ryan, Paul, Mark and Tomasz in Defence; David, Marcio, Henry George and Henry Manuel in Midfield and Chris and Dirk in Attack. A lot of quality was on the bench, with Greg and Nathan, as well as newcomers Juerg, Karime Bennaoui and (another) Henry (Henry Cammell that is).
On Saturday 22nd October 2011 the Barbarians were taking on the Vikings at Si'de Stadium. After getting beaten by Russia the previous week, the Barbarians were looking to get the three points and return to winning ways. The starting line up saw Carlos returning as Goalkeeper after recovering from injury. In defense Dave Carini, Andrew Robertson, Laurence Garner and Giambattista Santopolo were looking to close up shop. The midfield consisted of Dale Wong, also back after injury, John David Thompson, Nathan Dilliway and Henry Manuel. In attack Dirk van den Elzen and Kevin Plume were looking to bang’em in. On the bench there were Thomas Santoni, Thomas Housham and Matthew Morris.
